I did some research on this movie (1927), and although I have not actually seen it yet, the art is WAY inspiring. Just the whole of "gothic skyscrapers" is enticing, the mixing of old and new archetecture in this way is very odd and unsettling....like the black plague mixed with towering, congested cities. I MUST check out this movie.
I have high hopes for a blender idea to emerge from this.

I tried to watch it once. I got bored. It is supposed to be this seminal film but I just couldn't get into it. I think the fact that it is a silent film probably had something to do with it. Maybe I'll try again some day. However the pics you posted are cool.
